Privacy Policy for The Handpan App

This App Privacy Policy explains how NPUS LLC ("NPUS," "we," "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the NovaPans mobile application (the "App"). It is specific to the App and supplements our separate website privacy policy, which governs our website at novapans.com, and it takes effect on 13 October 2026. The App is published and operated by NPUS LLC, trading as NovaPans Handpans, 651 N Broad St Ste 206, Middletown, Delaware 19709-6402, United States, and is offered on iOS and Android. The App is designed to be usable without creating an account, and we do not ask you to register; based on how the App is built, it does not directly collect, store or share your personal information such as your name, email address, postal address, contacts, photos or precise location, and we do not operate a server that stores personal information about you in connection with the App. We request only the permissions the App needs to function, which are limited to network access for streaming videos and standard, non-sensitive device access; if any future version requests an additional permission, this policy will be updated to describe it and its purpose before it is used. The App contains no third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs, and we do not use it to build advertising or behavioural profiles. NovaPans does not offer in-app purchases. Purchases made after opening an external NovaPans link occur on novapans.com and are governed by the website privacy policy.

The App uses YouTube to display handpan tutorial videos, and these videos are not hosted by us but streamed from YouTube's servers through an embedded player. When a video loads or plays, Google LLC and YouTube may collect information about you and your device independently of us, which can include your IP address and approximate location derived from it; device identifiers and advertising identifiers, together with device type, operating system and app version; cookies and similar technologies set by YouTube (for example PREF, YSC, and VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE / __Secure-YNID), which YouTube uses for playback preferences, session integrity, analytics and, depending on your settings, personalised content and advertising; and usage data about your interaction with the player, such as which videos you watch, your watch time and playback quality. This data is collected and processed by Google LLC (YouTube) as an independent controller under Google's own Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service; we do not receive it and we do not control what Google does with it. The current app uses YouTube's standard embedded player. YouTube receives data when the player loads and when you play a video. Beyond YouTube, the third-party services that may process data in connection with the App are Apple Inc. for iOS app distribution and App Store services, and Google LLC for Android app distribution and Play services, each under its own privacy policy. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the data practices of these third parties. You can manage or delete data Google associates with you at Google My Activity and control ad personalisation at My Ad Center, and you can limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.

Because the App does not maintain user accounts, we do not hold a store of personal information about you that we would need to retain or delete; any preferences the App stores locally are removed when you delete or uninstall it, while data collected by YouTube and Google through embedded videos is retained by Google under its own policy. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information associated with the App, and data transmitted by the App to third-party services is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), though no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA, including the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information and to object to certain processing; because the App does not collect personal information directly, most such requests will relate to data held by Google and YouTube and are best directed there using the controls above, but you may also contact us at sales@novapans.com and we will help where we can. The App is a general-audience music and learning app, it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. NPUS LLC is based in the United States, and the third-party services described above may process data in the United States and other countries, so if you use the App from outside the United States you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries with different data-protection rules than your own. We may update this policy from time to time and will revise the effective date and last-updated values at the top of the page when we do. Three things changed from your published page: the in-app-purchases sentence now states no IAP and routes external purchases to the website policy; the YouTube sentence now names the standard embedded player (the privacy-enhanced wording is gone); and the third-party sentence no longer mentions in-app purchases for Apple or Google, so it can't contradict the new statement.
